Not to mention she’s about to become a new mother any day now. With so many things she juggles on a daily basis, you’re probably curious to know how she manages to take care of herself? Apparently, the Duchess has her own little secret self-care routine to balance her new career and personal life as a royalty.

A couple of years ago, Meghan had been sharing how meditation helped honed her self-care routine. She also cited how it helped improve her mental health. Meghan became steadfast and calm despite the constant stress and pressures she feels from her career, work, and personal life. And now that she is part of the royal family, she has even more reasons to rely on Vedic meditation to help her balance her new life while building a family with Prince Harry.

What is Vedic Meditation?

Vedic Meditation is derived from the Vedic texts in India, which was first written well over 5000 years ago. The people who practice Vedic meditation are called the Vedas. According to sources, they’re also responsible for introducing the practice of Yoga, as well as Ayurveda — the term they used for the science of life.

Most Vedic Meditation devotees are said to enjoy the benefits of happiness, fulfillment, and success as they practice the said meditation method.

What makes Vedic meditation unique is the fact that you don’t need to isolate yourself in a calm and silent environment and spend hours just to block your thoughts and reconnect with your soul. According to Meghan, she can use this meditation while tending to her schedules simultaneously. It enables her to save more time and attend to her duties diligently while soothing her body and mind from pressure and stress.

The Practice

Aside from the mental health benefits, Meghan says VM also helps in lowering your blood pressure while improving your heart rate.

For those who want to try the Vedic meditation, Meghan reveals you only have to follow these easy steps:

  1. Sit on a chair for 20 minutes (at least twice a day), close your eyes while repeating the mantra your instructor gave to you in your mind over and over again. Meghan says you can do this while you’re taking a break or before eating your meal.
  2. In case your mind starts wandering, experts say that you need to whisper the mantra all over again to refocused your thoughts. According to Meghan, you really don’t need to do anything except chanting the mantra in your head, which will slowly start to soothe your body. Your instructor also chooses a suitable mantra that matches your energy and goals.
