Anne Hathaway Uses This Strange Method to Relieve Her Stress and Anxiety
Just like any other average person, celebrities also suffer from stress now and then. Their hectic schedules are often packed with events like shooting for an upcoming film or tv series, traveling the world for tours and promotion, as well as various endorsements and sponsorship deals that not only exhaust the celebrities physically but it also drains them mentally and emotionally.
This is why we often see them taking occasional holidays to exotic locations to take a break from the stress and pressure they are subjected to from constantly being in the limelight. However, the renowned actress Anne Hathaway has a unique way of keeping her stress at bay, and it has to do with playing with fire!
The Secret Technique
In an interview with Town and Country, the Academy Award-winning actress admits she plays with fire to help herself remain calm and manage her anxiety in times of crisis. Her technique starts with spending 12 minutes writing all her frustrations, troubles, as well as her woes in a diary. Hathaway says that spewing all of her negative feelings on paper help ease the burden she carries.
When she’s done writing, she tears up the paper without even reading what she has written on it and lights it on fire. According to the actress, the act serves as a purging method to keep herself away from the negativities and toxicities from the world. Every feeling of angst, anger, loneliness, envy, frustration, rage she has will be burned and reduced into nothing but smoke and ash. Hathaway feels all her pent-up stress also disappears the moment the fire is extinguished.
The Caution
While her unique stress reliever may sound exciting and intriguing, Hathaway actually warns her fans to do it with extreme caution should they decide to try it. According to her, you really shouldn’t play with fire recklessly since it can turn into a disastrous accident.
The Platform of Empowerment
While Hathaway says that social media contributes as our main stressor nowadays, it also provides a calming effect on her. She uses social media‘s positive benefits by giving herself a public voice and to influence and empower her fans. It also allows her to connect with those people who truly care for her. For example, Hathaway gets to share her important milestones in her life like her pregnancy with her loyal fans.
She also doesn’t hesitate to reveal the challenges and trials she faces in her life. For example, there was one time when she had to gain weight for a film. Hathaway’s fans showed support for Hathaway’s transformation and sent body-positive messages to boost her confidence. Afterward, the renowned actress also shared her fitness videos to encourage her fans to lose weight and get back in shape.
