5 Morning Habits That Can Make Your Life Easier
A good morning routine is a key to a healthy mind, and a healthy mind is necessary for success.
Starting your day on the right foot sets a healthy and positive tone for the day, it also directly affects your mood and body. We all have those days when we wake up super fresh, make ourselves a fancy breakfast, go out on the balcony and eat while watching the cars drive away on the street, meditate, go out for a walk, while on other days we feel like staying in bed all day, depressed and agitated. These are all problems that can be fixed with fresh breath and morning air.
Here are some tricks to follow to make your mornings better:
Place your alarm clock away from the bed: by doing this, you’ll have to force yourself out of bed to shut down the alarm, and you are less likely to hit the snooze button when you’re already out of bed.
Wake up according to your timing: We’ve all read about “the early bird catches the worm,” and waking up at 5 am in the morning is the ideal timing to start a day. This theory is the best fit for those who work 9-5 since they get a headstart for their day and works for those who function better in the day. But this doesn’t mean that us night-owls are incapable of having a good morning routine. We all have different body clocks, just tune in with yours and get enough sleep. This may mean that you’ll wake up later than others, but it’ll keep you from burning out.
Make a to-do list for every day: rather than going on your Instagram and checking out what your friends have been doing while you were asleep, grab a notebook and start brainstorming. Plan your day ahead, whether it includes chores or errands, plan what to do and when to do it. Find time in your routine to complete those tasks and feel the satisfaction of checking off those items in your list.
Exercise or meditate: A good way to feel positive is to let the adrenaline rush through your mind to get you to move along. Exercising doesn’t necessarily mean going to the gym and picking weights, you can go out for a jog or a run. Set the km you want to cover in the morning before going to sleep. Most importantly, create a workout playlist to make the run interesting. Some people even prefer listening to podcasts.
Make your bed: making your bed is the first task of the day. A less cluttered room means a less cluttered mind. Besides, who likes getting up every day and finding your socks or glasses ruffling through the bedsheets? Once your bed is made your room will automatically start looking cleaner and brighter. You can even reward yourself with a pat on the back, feeling the pride of accomplishing one good thing in the day.
