This SHOCKING Game of Thrones Poster Gave Away the Show’s Ending a Decade Ago!

“Game of Thrones” ended weeks ago, but fans still can’t get over the final episode that left many of them conflicted. But all the controversies over the final season aside, no one can deny that it is one of the most attention-grabbing series that has had our eyes glued to the screens for eight years.

In fact, the final season of the HBO show premiered with a record-breaking viewer rating, amassing an audience of 17.4 million, and this doesn’t even account for piracy.

All the while, people were scrambling to find spoilers about its finale or even the tiniest clue in its previous seasons that could confirm or deny their theories about what would happen in the last episode.

Hidden Clue

Alas, there was one big clue that may have been right under our noses the entire time. In fact, the hint was so well hidden that even some of the show’s stars didn’t notice them!

Of course, now that everybody has presumably seen the last episode, we can comfortably backtrack to season 1 to unveil the clues about the final battle without having to worry about giving away any spoilers.

In an interview, Sophie Turner, who played Sansa Stark for the whole run of the series, was astounded to find out about this clue, much like most of us clueless fans.

In an interview, the 23-year-old was asked if she had a foreshadowing of how her character will evolve to become the Queen in the North, proving just how much she has grown as a character over the course of the show.

Sophie quipped that in the first season, Sansa said she wanted to be “queen mommy” someday. Speaking of signs that would tell the future, her “Dark Phoenix” co-star Jessica Chastain, who was at the interview as well, pointed out the poster for the first season.

Final Development Foreshadowing

The marketing material showed Ned Stark, Sansa’s late father, sitting on the Iron Throne beside a raven. As Jessica explained this mind-boggling fact to Sophie, she was obviously realizing that indeed, it had predicted the final development of the show.

The May 19 episode showed Bran Stark, who was also known as The Three-Eyed Raven, seizing the coveted Iron Throne to become the King of the seven — excuse me, six — kingdoms.

It seemed that not even the cast of the show had knowledge of this fact, so the joke’s pretty much on everybody. At the end of the series, Drogon melted the Iron Throne into molten lava after Jon Snow put a knife in Daenerys Targaryen’s heart.

Meanwhile, Tyrion, played by Peter Dinklage, convinced the representatives of all the major houses in the seven kingdoms to appoint Bran the Broken as the ruler and new King of Westeros. Surprisingly, Bran tapped Tyrion as the Hand of the King after taking the throne.

Petition

Of the giant clue sitting on the poster, it’s unclear if the creators intentionally left an Easter egg or it was purely coincidental. What’s established is that the ending did not satisfy all the viewers, with some even starting a petition to remake the last episode before it had even aired.

A few days after the final episode, this petition had a staggering 1.4 million signatories, asking for a remake of the entire season with “competent” writers at the helm.

Sophie found this move to be disrespectful but maintained she understands how people usually already have a picture in mind of how things should go. So if the finale didn’t go according to their likeness, then this will prompt for them to speak badly of it.
