Easy Ways to Get Organized In 5 Minutes

It is nearly impossible to take a day off or have a couple of hours in hand to organize your life and everything around you with our packed routines. What if we told you that you could declutter in just 5 minutes? Yes, five minutes, rather than catching yourself dedicating your entire day to organizing. With these amazing tips, you’ll be surprised at what five minutes can help you accomplish.

The Benefits of Decluttering Your Life

There are many benefits to owning fewer possessions. Even then, it’s tough to move into action until the many benefits of getting rid of clutter reveal themselves:

Less to clean

Cleaning is already enough of a chore, but having to clean around things you have zero emotional attachment to (or worse, actively dislike) makes cleaning the house much more stressful.

Less to organize

Finding things suddenly became easier. Things don’t just “disappear” anymore. You can actually move around your home and enjoy the space, instead of moving around things that are in the way.

Less stress

Looking around at the clutter is a nausea-inducing sight once your home becomes cluttered enough. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to look around and see a home you love?

Less debt

Spending less time shopping for material possessions and adding to the clutter means your wallet and bank accounts remain fuller; your credit card statements are lower, and your home doesn’t get filled with costly things you don’t need.

More energy for your greatest passions

With less debt, more financial freedom, and a clean home, you can now focus your energy on what you enjoy instead of worrying about keeping up with your present responsibilities. This will ultimately make you happier.

How to become organized

Organizing tip number 1: Fix your filing cabinets

Clear out any old documents you don’t need anymore and shred the ones containing sensitive information. You can also sort out the remaining documents in separate folders and files and use color coding and labels to mark the essential documents to make your life easier.

Organizing tip number 2: Clean your pantry

Cleaning out your entire pantry takes time; however, in five minutes, you could sort through just one shelf per day or week, toss out anything that has expired, and put all similar items together. Eliminate excess Tupperware and other storage containers that take up a lot of space. Instead, use plastic wraps or zip-lock bags to store small things.

Organizing tip number 3: Tidy pillows and blankets

As soon as you get out of bed, the day’s first task should be to clan your bed and fold your blanket or comforter. You can fluff your pillows, return them to their designated spot, put away all dirty throws and blankets or bedsheets in the laundry basket, and fold and stack the cleaned ones as soon as you take them out of the dryer.
